The Secret Art - Modern Leisure

Modern Leisure is pleased to announce the release of “The Secret Art”, the first single from their upcoming album Super Sad Rom-Com. The song serves as a thesis statement for the album, a collection of 12 songs detailing the romantic mishaps of frontman Casey Banker’s strange and bewitching twenties.

Modern Leisure is Banker’s (formerly of Shady Elders, The Don'ts and Be Carefuls) indie pop, folk rock outlet for the most personal stories of his past decade, chronicling those insane, horrible and lovely experiences that bring us into adulthood.

“The lyrics (of “The Secret Art”) were inspired by a conversation about a friend who could seemingly get anything they wanted. I used to think success was mainly about having charisma and charm, but ultimately the key to their good fortune was revealed to just being grateful for what they already had, and singing glory to all the good things in their life.”

Throughout his career, Banker has shared the stage with Mazzy Star, The Lumineers, Wild Nothing, The Drums, DeVotchka and many more.

“The Secret Art” will be available on all major digital retailers, and on limited edition 7” vinyl on Friday, August 11th. Vinyl will be available at the band’s release show, Saturday, August 12th, at the Hi-Dive, Denver.
